The Leadership Of Prophet Muhammad Religion Essay
The Leadership Of Prophet Muhammad Religion Essay The choice of the topic was prompted because of the numerous impacts and transformation the leadership of prophet Muhammad (SAW) had made to humanity and the world in general. So many scholars and historians such as Michael hart Carlyle in his book the hundred and mahatma Ghandi even though they were not Muslims they made so many assertions that the world had never witnessed a leader who has achieved so much in all spheres of leadership ; socially, economically and religiously like such as man (Muhammad SAW). An Arab man who does not know how to read or write, but was able to transform the whole of Arabian Peninsula in less than three decades. He was able to change the mind of Arabian people who happens to be so barbaric during the jahiliya period killing one another. They fought so many battles due to ethnicity, ignorance and land disputes which usually last for decades. As he came in, he was able to unite them, change their focus so as to love one another as it was reported in one of his tradition that: none of you is a complete believer unless he loves for his brother what he loves for himself. In the glorious Quran, Allah the most high says: O mankind, I have created you from a single male and female and made you in to nations and tribes; so that you man know one another. None of you is greater than the other except he who fears Allah the most. Hence all are equal before Allah. From the aforementioned, I can categorically say that prophet Muhammad SAW is a role model to leaders of all kind; politically, economically, psychologically and religiously. Therefore all leaders in the world should learn and embrace the method of his leadership, this is because he conquered the whole of Arabian Peninsula without fierce battle except where they fought against him then he fought back in defense of his territorial sovereignty. I also choose the topic because he was able to liberate women from the bondage of becoming extinct. The world over, there is no religion that has given women the liberation, respect and recognition than the religion of Islam with its leader Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as it was enshrined in the holy book of Allah. But before the advent of this great leader, a female child born to a family is considered to be a cause as such, they were either killed or buried alive. This was mentioned in the glorious Quran where Allah says; whenever one of them is giving a glad tiding of a female child, his fact would become darkened in sorrow in high state of grief. He will separate from his people the bad tidings he was given should he bury it in the earth. But he was able to bring liberation to the female folks, not only to the female folk but to humanity in general as stated in the glorious Quran we do not send you expect as a mercy to the world. The prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) exhibited the sublime condu ct of Islam, which appealed to the people to accept Islam. He used his obedience to Allah to propagate Islam; he strictly adhered to the commands and prohibitions of Allah. He derived pleasure in following the commands of Allah and other people noticed and accepted the religion. The prophet therefore used soft language while appealing to people to accept Islam. He met people in their houses and at business places to tell them about Islam, he gave examples that could convince his people that he was sent by Allah. The leadership qualities I find most admirable were his humility, his recognition of talent, and his ability to think counterintuitive. Introduction The prophet Muhammad (SAW) was born in makkah 2nd august A.D 570, his father died before he was born. His mothers name is amina she died when he was six years old he became an orphan at a very young age. Khadija gave birth to four girls and three boys all the boys died in childhood. The prophet at the age of 40 he was climbing the cave outside the city to be alone to pray and ponder he was troubled by all the injustice of mekkah, slavery, ill treatment of women, gambling, sacrifice of new born babies and the reliance on idol gods made of wood and stone but for one God of Abraham and Moses and Jesus. So as he did every year he went to the cave (cave hira) suddenly he was surrounded by light when he looked up he saw angel Gabriel standing before him he was speechless. Read said the angel I dont how was the reply Gabriel repeated his command three times and each time the reply was the same and then Gabriel thought him. The angel said read in the name of your creator he created man from the clot of blood read your lord is the most merciful who thought the use of the pen and thought men what he did not know. And then Gabriel varnished. Muhammad (SAW) shook with fear he stumbled out of the cave and ran home he doubted what he had seen but on his way down the mountain the angel appeared to him again. The angel said Muhammad you are the messenger of God he repeated himself severally. Once the angel had gone Muhammad (SAW) struggled for home. He finally arrive he was shivering he asked his wife khadija to cover him, he told her everything he had seen and heard. He said he feared for his sanity but khadija assured him that God will not allow evil spirit to overtake a man like him who had always told the truth cared for the poor and needy. Khadija was the first Islam believer and soon others followed. For three years the prophet peace be upon him preached in secret. The prophet revelation the Quran offered the most beautiful one have ever heard. He thought the Muslims that all the gods of mekkah are powerless there is only one God that is God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus. And we have to surrender everything to him there is no such thing as rich or slave in the eyes of God we are all equal and the poor are to be cared for. The Quran says in the name of God the merciful the most compassionate the most honored of you in the site of Allah is the most righteous of you, women arent possessions they are Gods creations just as important as any man respect them. The earth is a gift from God treat it gentle you are its caretaker and remember you will all be judged according to your deeds many became Muslims on that day. The prophet was a great believer in prayers; he made supplication to his Lord with zeal and favor rarely to be found in the religious literature of the world. The prophet said if they put the sun in his right hand and the moon in his left he will not stop what he is doing he will continue till either the word of God prevails or he perish in the process. To the prophet Raina but say, Unzurna and hearken (to him): to those without Faith is a grievous punishment. It is never the wish of those without faith among the people of the Book nor the polytheists. That anything good should come down to you from your Lord. But Allah will choose from his special Mercy whom He will- for Allah is Lord of grace abounding. The prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the head of state and was the ruler of nearly all Arabia. When the prophet noticed that the Quiraysh were preventing people from listening to him, he started to contact other people who came to madinah from other places. Among such people are the Yathribites. He met the first group of Yathribites at al-Aqbd. They accepted Islam from him and promised to preach it to the other people in Yathrib. They invited him to madinah and promised him protection. He therefore migrated to Yathrib which was renamed the city of the messenger. The Dawah got a boost with the migration of the prophet to madinah, many Muslims migrated to madinah from makkah. There were a lot of lessons derived from the prophet Dawah activities in madinah and Muslims are to apply them. Emulating the prophet in being soft-hearted to people they come across. Being patient in whatever they pursue as the prophet did when he was propagating Islam. Observing moral norms by avoiding what could tarnish their image and the image of Islam. Always giving people the benefit of doubt until w hat was presumed happened. Being very firm in upholding the teachings of Islam in both social and moral spheres of life. The truth is from you lord let him who will believe, and let him who will reject it, for the wrong doers we have prepared a fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent, will hem them in. if they implore relief they will be granted water like melted brass, that will scald their faces. As for those who believe and work righteousness verily we shall not suffer to perish the reward of any who do a single righteous deed. Thus did we make their case known to people, that they might know the promise of Allah is true, and that there can be no doubt about the hour of judgment. A revelation from the most Gracious, most merciful; a Book whereof the verses are explained in detail. A Quran in Arabic for people to understand, giving god news and admonition yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. They say our hearts are under veils (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and our ears is a deafness between us and there is a screen. The prophet say: I am a m an like you, it is revealed to me by inspiration that your God is one. So take the straight path unto him and ask for His forgiveness. Those who reject Allah and hinder (men) from path of Allah their deeds will Allah bring to naught. But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and believe in the revelation sent down to Muhammad (SAW) for it is the truth from the lord. He will remove from them their ills and improve their condition. This is because those who reject Allah follow falsehood. While those who believe follow the truth from their Lord therefore when ye meet the unbelievers smite at their necks. It is He who sent tranquility into the heart of the believers, that they may add faith to their faith. Prophet Muhammad (SAW)s distinctive communication and leadership approach led to the increase of Islam. The findings on the Prophets values of moderation revealed that he placed a lot of weight on mannerism. Humankind has to match words with deeds. Believers were not to say one thing and do the other. When told by some of his followers that they will abstain from women and devote their entire energy to prayer, he responded by stating that he was married. This was like an indirect way to inform the speaker that there was no room for pretense. By choosing to abstain you open yourself to irresistible temptation. Getting married would therefore serve as the means to shun sin and other forms of temptation. This is certainly the landmark of difference between Muhammad and other spiritual and secular leaders of his time and today. To begin with, some other spiritual leaders remained unmarried and by deciding to do so created a pattern for their followers to follow suit. But experience has shown that most of these followers could not faithfully follow their religion without falling into the te mptation of bodily pleasures. This could have been unwelcome by Muhammad. He foresaw this kind of contradiction and so taught by examples. It was like doing justice to natures calling. The Prophet was in essence advocating justice between sexes. Battles fought by prophet The battles (Badr, Uhud and Khaybar, Ditch) fought by the prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) The patience of the prophet at the face of persecution for the most of the thirteen years of Dawah in makkah. When the prophet started open Dawah in makkah, the Quiraysh reached by persecuting him. The persecution continued through the thirteen years of Dawah in makkah. The reaction of the Quiraysh included: Persecuting the prophet through physical assault, intimidation and harassment The sahabuh were also persecuted by physical assault which led to the death of a woman The family of the prophet was harassed by the Quiraysh Banà » Hà ¢skim who sympathized with the cause of the prophet was ex-communicated from makkah for three years. Battle of Uhud (625 A.D) The immediate cause of the battle of Uhud was the defeat which the Quraysh suffered at the hands of the Muslims at the battle of Badr. The Muslims were originally one thousand, but when Abdullah ibn Ubay (the leader of hypocrites) let three hundred of his followers to withdraw, the Muslims were left with 700 men to face 3,000 makkans. When the prophet heard about their coming he contacted the sahabah and it was agreed that the Muslims should go out and meet the army. Effects of the Battle of Ditch Qurashs finally attempted to wipe out Islam and the Muslims from existence had failed. Tribes in Arabia had learnt lesson to live peacefully with the Muslims Treachery of the Jews to the Muslims came into the open The prophet, therefore, punished them with ejection, enslavement and forfeiture of property. Muslims appreciated to power of Allah who saved the from the evil machinations of the Jews and the confederations Battle of Khaybar After the confederates were dispersed by God through a heavy wind storm, the prophet decided to attack the Jews of Khaybar who broke the agreement that existed between them and the Muslims. He commanded the sahabah who remained with him to defend madinah to proceed to khaybar immediately. At khaybar, the Jews who heard about the coming of the prophet had taken cover in the mountains. The Jews attacked the Muslims in a mountain path with arrows and spears. The Muslims retreated and some of the ran for safety Conclusion The prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) exhibited the sublime conduct of Islam, which appealed to the people to accept Islam. A few years later in medina after a short illness the prophet (SAW) died he was sixty-three years old he always lived a simple and humble life giving everything he had to the poor.

Functions Of Database Management System
Functions Of Database Management System Before we start with DBMS we should know what is data. A data is a piece of information, and database is the collection of data that is set in an orderly way. And managing this database is known as Database Management System in short DBMS. The person who manages, creates, controls and maintain this database management system is known as Database Administrator (DBA). Another important term to remember is information. Any data which has been converted to a useful and understandable form is called information. There are some differences between data and information. Data Information Any raw figure or fact is data. For example 6 is a data. A processed form of data is known as information. For example weight = 6 kg is data Data does not help in making decisions. With right information we can make decision. Functions of Database Management System Data Modeling: The structured definition of data storage is known as data modeling. Processing Query: This a mechanism of manipulating the data Concurrency Control: To ensure the accuracy and simultaneous access of the database by multiple users. Security of Information: Security of the database is very important. Crash Recovery: Data recovery after the system crashes. Types of Database users Database Administrator (DBA): The database administrator is the person who who maintains designs and creates the database. Database Designer: A database designer is a person who plans or designs the database. End User: The one who uses the database, it may be that he/she only views the database or it may be that he/she makes the data entries. Make queries, etc There may be different types of end user, for example: Sophisticated: these are the users who has a good knowledge in database and can make queries, with SQL manipulate data with DML (Data Manipulating Language) Specialized: who makes application programs that interacts with the database Native: only interacts with the database via some sophisticated programs Application Programmers: A person who makes applications which interacts with the database using programming language like C++ , Java, etc. He may create a software which gives a easy to use interface to input data into a complex database, so that even the clerks of the office can input data or search for some data from the companies database without knowing Oracle, MySQL or other DBMS software Database Model Database Model is the structure or the format of the data; it may be physical or conceptual. Database Model is also known as database schema. Conceptual Model: Conceptual Model helps to overview the organizational schema rather than the database schema. Physical Model: Physical Model is the database design which means that this model describes the data storage, data structure, etc. basically we get to know about the physical media of the data storage and the mode of access of that data from this model. Frame Memory Model: This type of model is generally used for large manufacturing database application. Modifying the characteristic of the complex database easily and accurately. Unifying Model: in the Unifying Model the Entity-Relation concept has been extended to introduce a new form of diagrammatic representation other than class diagrams. Object Oriented Model: A Object Oriented Model is a data model in which the real life data or entities are organized. Generally Object Oriented Data Model or OODM consists of the following concepts, they are as follows: Object and object identifier Attributes and methods Class Class hierarchy and inheritance Record Based Model: The Record Based Model helps us to specify the overall logical structure of the database. In this type of data bases the numbers of types of data are fixed. And each of the record type or data type has a fixed number of fields with fixed field length. There are three types of record based data model they are: Hierarchical Model: In a Hierarchical Model the data is organized in a form of tree like structure. In this kind of structure the parent à ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬ child relationship can easily be shown. A very famous use of this kind of database is the Windows Registry developed by Microsoft. 320px-Hierarchical_Model.jpg Network Model: This is a type of database model where it is easy to represent objects and relationship. Its more easier to define many to many relation in this model rather than in the hierarchical model. A well known implementation of Network Model is RDM Server. 320px-Network_Model.jpg Relational Model: The relational model was developed by E.F Codd. The properties of a relational database model are as follows: The columns of table are all homogenous i.e. they are of the same kind. Every item should have simple value. All the relationship of tuples must be distinct. The key value should be used to order the tuples within a relationship. Columns are named distinctly and their ordering is not so important. 280px-Relational_Model_2.jpg Manual Database. A Manual Database is a record kept by a human without the use of any computers or electronic devices. This obviously has many problems like: Searching: It is very difficult to find a particular result from a manual database if the size of the database is huge. Updating: Updating a new entry is also problematic as we have to manually find the old record, scratch it, or erase it then make the new entry. Backing up: Suppose there is a database of 10,000 pages making a manual backup of this database, i.e. a handwritten copy of it will be difficult to make. Sorting: It is virtually impossible to sort the data say names of customers by alphabetic order, etc on a manual database. As we see that making a manual database of a large amount of data becomes impossible to manage so now we use computerized data. Traditional File Processing System One of the earliest forms of computerizing data storage is the file processing system. Creating, sorting, organizing and accessing the content of the file is known as File Processing System. Characteristics of File Processing System. Each file is different from each other. This is a collection of files, or sorted data. Each of the file is called a flat file. Every file contains processed information of a specific function such as one file may be for accounting other file may be of contacts. Files are created by the help of program which are written in C, C++ or COBOL. Drawbacks of the File Processing System. There are many drawbacks of File Processing System. Separated Data Duplicated Data Data Dependency Data inflexibility Problems in representing the data to user. File format problems. Database: A database is a organized form of data. This organization is very important because when the size of data increases it becomes difficult to use or control the data. Database Management System: A DBMS or Database Management System is a collection of data and programs which help us to access and modify those data. The collection of data is called database. The main purpose of DBMS is to efficiently store and control the database. Advantages of DBMS Control Redundancy: With the help of DBMS data redundancy can be controlled. In the File Processing System there used to be data redundancy, which means that the same data stored more than once. Integrity: Maintaining Integrity means that the data stored in the database is accurate and precise. This is very much important as incorrect data can not be stored into the database so some integrity constraints are enabled on the database, to check the accuracy of the database. Avoiding inconsistency: Consider there are two data storage sites of data and some changes are made in one site but those changes are not reflected on the other site for some reasons then it gives rise to data inconsistency. To avoid this data redundancy should be removed if data redundancy is checked it will also remove data inconsistency. Data Sharing: Suppose a same data is required by two databases then that data can be shared from a centralized database. Maintaining standards: As we know that DBMS is a centralized system so it can be standardized effectively. A company database can be standardized in Department Level, National Level, International Level, etc. Preventing unauthorized access: Lots of security can be enabled to prevent the unauthorized access of the data. Passwords and encryptions are enabled in database to provide better security to companyà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¾Ã ¢s data. Backup and recovery of data: Data loss can happen at any moment due to number of reasons so it is very much important to create backup so that the data can be recovered if there is any accidental loss of data. Disadvantages of DBMS Complexity: The functionality of DBMS is a very complex process. The database designer, database administrator, developer and the end user should have a clear understanding of the DBMS working and functionality to make it work in a correct way. If they fail to do it DBMS will not work in a proper way. Size: As time passes the size or the volume of data increases which makes the size of database larger. Moving, copying and editing this large amount of data take a considerable time and system resource. Sometimes upgrading RAM or Disk Space becomes necessary to run the DBMS properly Performance: DBMS software tends to run slower than the typical File Processing System. Cost: Cost of implementing the DBMS is high. Sometimes the DBMS software for the specific environment is high, or the upgradeing of hardware to run it becomes costly or when converting from an older system to DBMS the process of conversion of the data costs a lot. Failure rate higher: As it is a centralized system I it fals every operation comes to a halt. Difference between File Management System and Database Management System File Management System Database Management System File management Systems are relatively small in size and volume Database Management Systems are comparatively larger in size. They are cheaper to implement Much costlier to implement It deals with few files It deals with a large number of files. The structure of this system is very simple The structure is very much complex in nature. There are many redundant data. Redundant data is very much reduced. Data inconsistency takes place in File Management System Data inconsistency is checked in the DBMS In File Management System data is isolated. In DBMS data can be shared. There is no security. It is secured. Very simple and primitive form of backup and recovery. Highly sophisticated and complex form of backup and recovery. Mainly single user. Most of the time its multiuser. Less preliminary design Vast preliminary design Purpose of DBMS Database Management System is very useful and is used in many sectors. Some the areas where it is used is given below. Railway: for making the railway enquiry and reservation system to work properly there is a needed of implementing DBMS as all the data has to be stored in a centralized location and the data is then used by every railway stations throughout the country. Banking: As now a days there are many branches of a bank there has to be a DBMS to track and record the transactions of every customers. This will have not been possible if File Management System were used. Schools/Colleges and Universities: To store the records of students like their name, roll number, address, contact number, marks obtained, etc a DBMS is used so that the database can be updated easily. Business and Offices: To store the companyà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¾Ã ¢s sales, profit , etc and its record of employees a sophisticated DBMS is used. Instances and Schemas The database changes from time to time, the information which is stored in the database at a particular time is known as Instance. A Schema is a overall design of the database . QUESTIONS What do you mean by DBMS? A DBMS or Database Management System is a collection of data and programs which help us to access and modify those data. The collection of data is called database. The main purpose of DBMS is to efficiently store and control the database. How does DBMS differs from MS Excel? What are the differences between data and information? Less preliminary design Vast preliminary design What do you mean by Data Duplicity? Data Duplicity means repetition of the same data more than once in the same database. Data Duplicity causes lot of problems like: It is waste of time and money. It leads to loss of data integrity. It takes up additional storage and increases the size of the database which effects the search time. What do you mean by Data Dependency? In a File Processing System the specific physical format of file and record were hard coded on the application programs. So a change in database format required the codes to be updated. What is data isolation? Data Isolation means a data which is isolated form other databases that means when data can not be shared. It is not possible to share data in a File Processing System so the data remains in a isolated condition. Write down the necessary steps to secure a data into a database. What do you mean by redundant data? Data Redundancy means duplication of data. A same data may be present more than onces leading to data inconsistency. Write down the applications of Database Management System. There are many applications of Database Management System , some of them are explained below: Railway: for making the railway enquiry and reservation system to work properly there is a needed of implementing DBMS as all the data has to be stored in a centralized location and the data is then used by every railway stations throughout the country. Influences of a Teacher Essay -- Learning Education Essays
" A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."-Unknown What does a teacher do? Well, besides giving out tons of papers, numerous tests, and stories that the students aren't interested in reading (or just too lazy to read), teachers are responsible for creating the future leaders of tomorrow. In today's society one may find advancement difficult without a formal education. Education is one of society's institutions that helps to infuse in our younger generation the norms, values and morals of the world we live in. Teachers lead their students on the trip to success. Have you ever wondered how you would have gotten where you are today, or how you will get where you will be tomorrow without a great instructor? According to a private pedagogical survey of sources (teachers and students), some of the main qualities of teachers should be discipline, motivation, and above all, respect. I have interviewed three teachers and three students from the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School levels. How do we define discipline? When most people hear the word "discipline" they imagine an eighty year old, six foot five matron holding a long stick, preparing to give some outspoken child his just punishment. In modern terms, having a disciplined classroom is simply the act of maintaining structure and consistency in the working environment. Discipline is hard to achieve in a class where the teacher and students are viewed as equals. In this form of study, students will tend not to listen to the teacher when the time comes to work or be productive. In his article, " I'll ... ... able to apply what they learned. Just think, the positive influence of a teacher today creates the successful individual of tomorrow. Works Cited Cheney, Lynne V. " P.C. Rebellion in Two Kinds by Amy Tan Essay -- Two Kinds Essays
Two Kinds In this story ââ¬Å"Two kindsâ⬠by Amy Tan it shows the great expectations of a mother, who wishes for her child to be famous and a genius. The mother coming from a society that is very hard working and obedient trying to instill the upbringing she had I her life. The child Jing-mei is a typical example of a child rebelling against their mothers wishes no matter how hard the parental figure tries, the child wishes to perform things in their own way and use their own freewill and to do things in there own timely fashion. The mother moves to America after much heartache in China. She has lost everything as quoted ââ¬Å"she had come here in 1949 after losing everything in China: her mother and father, her family home, her first husband, and two daughters, twin baby girls.â⬠(pg 1218). She begins a new life in America raising Jing-mei how every parent raises their own child to become the best they can. She believes that moving to America that anything can be accomplished and uses Jing-mei to live that life through by making her watch certain television show. Shows that portray how famous people act and to see how child prodigies perform in front of audiences. Always testing her child with quizzes that became very hard as quoted ââ¬Å" The tests got harder-multiplying numbers in my head, finding the queen of hearts in a deck of cards, trying to stand on my head without using my hands, predicting the daily Temperatures in Los Angelas, New York, and London.â⬠(pg 1219). Afterwards the mother trades maid services for piano lessons and puts more pressure on Jing-mei to be this great child prodigy that will be very famous. Like any parent they have high expectations of their child or children to live a great life that is equally t... ...uld. They have been the one to comfort us when the world seemed to turn evil. They have been the one to love us when we needed it the most, by the end of the story the outlook on the pressures take a different turn. Jing-mei has matured from a girl into a woman and as a peace of offering, her mother offers to give her the piano the main object of adversity between the two of them. This offers her the realization that she has become herself on her own terms, even with all of this hardship. She also learns that with everything her mother pushed on her or made her do it was out of love to make Jing-mei have a better and more satisfying life than the one her mother had to go through. my statement :: essays research papers
When I first sat down to write this statement letter I had hundreds of ideas. I am not writing this letter to be a sob story of my life and the wrong choices I have made, but a statement of growth and encouragement for my future. I am a 33yr old male of mixed race (Mexican and African American). In my family education was important, my grandmother only has a 12th grade education and she had it a lot harder than me coming from Chihuahua, Mexico to the United States, so they tried to stress the importance of an education. It has taken me 12 years to realize that I need a college education, an education that seems to be slowly slipping out of my grasp because of my inability to pay for school. I am currently a student at Oakton Community College; I started with my first class last summer to see what college life is or if I could make it in school setting after all these years. I took Intro to Criminal justice, I was told to take easier class to work my way up to harder classes. I donââ¬â¢t want easy, easy would have been 12 yrs ago when I should have gone to college. I passed the class with an ââ¬Å"Aâ⬠grade, happy I was but not satisfied with just passing this class. I still need to see if I could work a full time job and go to school full time. Fall classes were more difficult than I thought with my success from the season, I passed with ââ¬Å"Bâ⬠and 2 ââ¬Å"Câ⬠. This was upsetting to me, for the first time I cared about a grade I received. Passing is not good enough, I need to pass with good grades (I strive to achieve my goals)! My career goal is Law enforcement, Police Officer (State or Local), Forensic Scientist, Criminologist or Government Enforcement. Obtaining a degree in my chosen profession would allow me to open doors. The disadvantages that I have faced without a college degree has led me to many obstacles in my life. The multitude of financial obligations that I face from day to day is sometimes overwhelming. With my current employment, the future looks no better. Attending Oakton is allowing me to reach my career goals and to pursue my dreams.

Twelfth Night Explores the Nature of Love
The play Twelfth Night explores many different types of love between it's characters. With so much love and so many different levels and kinds, love easily appears to be the central theme of the play from the complex love triangle between Viola, Oliva and Orsino to hinted at homosexual love from Antonio to Sebastion, it is easily the central theme. The first love in the play is Orsino's love for Olivia. Although Orsino has never met Oliva before in his life he claims to be madly in love with her and sends messenger after messenger to tell her of his love. This uneducated and mostly appearance related love could easily just be infatuation. This could be proven when Orsino quickly asks Viola to marry him as though he never loved Oliva to begin with. Another, but a lot different, example of love in Twelfth Night is the self love Malvolio has for himself. Malvolio only cares about his social rank, becoming a gentleman. Then when he receives the letter from ââ¬Å"Oliviaâ⬠he becomes ecstatic and even says that he will make him the real head of the house rather then just a steward if they marry. The plans to use Olivia's love for him as a tool to reach where he wants to be. Another example of love, and probably the most true, is Viola's love for Orsino. Viola's love for Orsino is the most true because Viola and Orsino really know eachother. They talk and spend time together, even if they are both ââ¬Å"menâ⬠they manage to get to know eachother. Also their live seems true because even though she loves Orsino she would go try and ââ¬Å"Wooâ⬠Oliva so Orsino could be happy. There is also little ways showing love in the play Twelfth Night. For instance the idea that Antonio loves Sebastian is brought up by the way he speaks to Sebastian and the way he comes to Llyria with him even though he can go to jail. The last example of love is Maria and Toby, we know that Maria's love is true but whether or not Toby loves her is a mystery. Oliva's love for Cesario, Toby and Maria, Oliva and Sebastian, ââ¬Å"Oliva'sâ⬠letter to Malvolio, Viola and Orsino, and Orsino's love for Oliva easily show that love is a central them in Twelfth Night.
